Welcome!

The Presumpscot River Watershed Coalition is a partnership of individuals, organizations, and agencies collaborating to restore and protect the Presumpscot River watershed. We work to realize the greatest good for the human and ecological communities that share the river's resources by cooperating on various projects to realize the goals set forth in the Presumpscot River Management Plan.

New: Report to Identify Priorities for Enhancement of Mill Brook. Mill Brook is a tributary to the Presumpscot that now flows freely from it's source at Highland Lake dam to the sea, following removal of Smelt Hill dam in 2002. Mill Brook hosts one of the last remaining anadromous fish runs in Casco Bay, and recent restoration of fish passage at Highland Lake dam has energized resource managers to think about additional steps needed to protect and enhance existing habitat. A focus group comprised of regional, state, and local resource managers was convened to determine the steps necessary for further enhancement of the Mill Brook ecosystem. The most recent draft report of their findings is available here: Recommendations for Future Restoration and Management Efforts for Mill Brook, Westbrook, Maine. Additional sections of the report are posted as follows: summary; Appendices: A, B, C, D, E, F, G. The project is a collaborative effort of the Casco Bay Habitat Restoration Committee and PRWC.
